Some how the battery on my Bodyguard ..380's insight laser managed to fizzle out in less than 3 months.. The only thing I can think of is that it may have accidently activated in my holster, but even so the manual says it has a 15 min automatic shut off designed to prevent battery waste.. That laser screw problem and the problem with the buttons and the laser shorting out when hit with clp are probably the reasons that S &W came out with the m &p bodyguard for 2014.. I like mine, but haven't touched the laser screw.. It is allen.. the little wrench that came with your pistol will fit it..
