Step 1: Putting the Heatsinks and Peltier Together.. Using thermal paste that came with the heatsinks, I sandwiched the Peltier between both and bolted everything together while making sure the Peltier was evenly placed between them.. Just a note, the printed side of the Peltier is actually the cold side once the polarity of the wiring is followed..

Jun 23, 2015.. #2.. Assuming you bought the most common peltier which moves 50W of heat, to cool 60L (12g) by 5..5C will take approx 60,000*4..2*5..5/ (50*3600) = 7..8 hours.. Not very practical as you'd need about 10.. I think what you need is a proper water cooler - check out marine tank coolers or evaporation coolers..
I had tried a similiar experiment uses the new water block form Nano-Customs that allows all 40mm X 40 mm surface area of the water to contact the Peltier.. I used a 15 volt, 4 amp power supply and tested in about 1..5 gallon bucket and was able to drop the water temp down abut 2 degrees in an hour..

Hooking the chiller directly to this would result in a massive amprage draw.. However, if you were to place a resistor inline with the chiller, the amount of current alowed to flow could be limited.. In this case we have 12v, and our ideal current draw is 4..8a.. Using Ohms law, (R=V/I) R=12vdc/4..8a, so R=2..5ohms..
What if we build a normal liquid cooling loop, but we add a peltier chiller between the pump and the CPU/GPU block.. something like this: DIY peltier cooler, just beefier.. Depending on how many peltier elements you use and how good is their cooling you probably can go subambient aswell, if that's what you want..
